Xero for Android security improvements
If you have system fingerprints enabled and set up on your Android device, you will now have the option to choose between security code login or fingerprint login for extra security when using Xero for Android. You’ll find the option in Settings, under the “Lock app with” section; or during the first time you set up the app.
Don’t worry though! If you misplace your fingertips, you can still log back in with your user credentials and then set a security code instead.
We support fingerprint authentication on Google Nexus devices with fingerprint sensors, and any fingerprint capable device running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or higher.
Two-step authentication support for Xero for Android is here.
If you have 2SA enabled on your Xero account and login to Xero for Android using your username and password, you will be prompted to enter your six digit authentication code generated by your chosen authentication app.
Once you’ve passed the 2SA challenge, setting up either a security code or fingerprint will add another layer of security to the app and you won’t need to re-enter 2SA authentication codes to login.
If you decide to only use your Xero username and password to login, you will be prompted with the 2SA challenge each time you login. The same goes for when you have completely logged out and for new installs of Xero for Android.
