We’re excited to introduce Xero Search – a smarter, faster way to search and navigate in Xero. With Xero Search, you can get where you need to go in just a few keystrokes, from any screen in Xero. This means fewer clicks and less time spent navigating menus and waiting for page reloads.
Think of Search as your new command center. Find transactions or contact information as you type. Use shortcuts to access frequently visited screens, such as All Contacts and All Invoices. Or instantly add a new contact or transaction.
Search helps you spend less time getting there, so you can focus on getting things done.
Search for contacts and transactions
Search is powerful and easy to use. To get started, simply click on the search icon or enter / from any screen in Xero.
You can search for contacts by name, and transactions by reference, invoice number, contact name, bank account, and more.
Enter your search terms and results will display as you type. You can narrow down your search using search filters, and view up to 2,000 results.
You can also expand an individual search result for more details without leaving Search. Once you find what you’re looking for, click on the result and you’ll be taken directly to the contact or transaction details.
Shortcuts to other screens
Use shortcuts to jump to frequently visited screens in Xero.
In version one, these screens include the “Add New” and “All” pages for contacts, invoices, bills, quotes, and purchase orders. You can also navigate to the “All bank accounts” and “Dashboard” screens.
Simply enter the shortcut key, and select the screen you’d like to go to.
