Having too many recurring payments coming in doesn’t seem like the worst problem to have, but for the founders of Rerun, this was their reality before starting the company.
They found that, as a software developer with a growing number of customers on monthly and annual support plans, the costs associated with administration of these payments was growing.
After realizing this problem was not unique to their company, Rerun was born, offering a recurring billing solution for businesses.
No more chasing up expired credit cards or failed payments. Co-founder Scott Davisson says Rerun means billing and payment processing is streamlined at the touch of a button.
“The concept of having a recurring financial relationship with your customers or clients or students, where they pay you on a predictable frequency for services rendered, has slowly and steadily cut across all small business types; not just developers peddling tech tools,” Davisson says.
“So while our initial goals were self-serving, we saw the small business community at-large needed these tools more than us.”
Rerun and Xero go hand-in-hand
Rerun is one of more than 500 third-party integrations available on Xero’s new App Marketplace, which provides a one-stop-shop for cloud apps. Davisson says the integration has been a “hand-in-glove” fit.
“The integration between Rerun and Xero has delivered significant value to our shared customers,” Davisson says. “Xero users can sync customers, items and taxes, but most importantly, they can sync all successful Rerun payments to Xero as Paid Sales Invoices.”
Davisson says they were surprised by the diversity of small businesses that have benefited from using their software. From a pool maintenance company in California to a school in Iowa, a wide range of small businesses are using Rerun to eliminate the need for chasing up customer payments.
Davisson says some of their most passionate advocates have been Xero partners.
“These partners obviously see the value in selecting best-of-breed tools and maintaining recurring billing relationships with clients,” Davisson says.
Rerun attended their first Xerocon last year in Denver, and they are excited to be joining more than 30 other partners at the cloud accounting conference, which is to be held this year in San Francisco.
“The energy and momentum within the Xero community was palpable and conversations with Xero users, partners and staff have proven invaluable in helping to guide product decisions and direction,” Davisson says. “We’re excited to attend and return home with a renewed sense of what the community needs and how we can continue to evolve our platform to deliver.”
